Baldur's Gate II: EE app good for
Many more hours spent on this game again. Im glad this was made for iOS.
I loved this game when I was a kid, and its great to see ported to the iPad so I can play it on the go. Ive got nothing bad to say about the game. controls are fantastic and it would get five stars but, Rasaad just reached level 20 and now Im going to have to remove him from my party because he keeps stopping when I tell him to move and he will not attack anybody
I waited to buy this game because of a lot of reviews that said the game was buggy...but I havent experienced any bugs at all! The disappearing sidebars bug was fixed, no crashing at all, no problems or any bugs at all. Unsure why people are forwarding their old reviews without updating them. I use iPhone 5, iOS 9.3.2.
This game is one of the all time greats. Its from the 90s, but had been resurrected and ported as successfully as possible to the iPhone. The UI is a little small, and there are some features missing from the PC version, such as a few keyboard shortcuts that were overlooked (the original game relied HEAVILY on keyboard shortcuts). But that is all to be expected. Overall, its great to have this all time classic in my pocket.
I love baldurs gate 2. It is one of the best games of all time. If you havent played it, the game is freaking hard! But it is so rewarding. It set the tone for RPGs today. It is so full of Easter eggs, too. Just buy it, try it out. Its wonderful.
This is one of the great RPGs of all time and is well suited to touch screen. Small improvements on the original too. Hope we see more like this.
One of my favorite games of my teen years has come back. Although i was initially worried, the game works fine on ipad, with the exception that some areas on the bottom of my screen sometimes have issues when im pressing to collect objects, otherwise the experience is pretty much as good as it was before.
The game probably wont win any new players over, but for those who remember the old game fondly and want to relive it, i would 100% recommend this to them.
The original Baldurs Gate II was my first foray into RPG gaming, and is ultimately what turned me into the gamer I am today. I found the Discs in my moms CD-ROM collection, and the rest as they say, is history.
Now, with the enhanced edition I can take it with me in my pocket on my iPhone. The game is incredible, and I very highly recommend it for RPG fans of all ages. My only sad point is that BGIIEE has yet to implement the ability to export saves, like I can in the first game on iOS. Once I can do that, itll be perfect if you ask me.
Some bad moments
Completely stuck on chapter 5. The Drow city has been sealed and I cant get out. What a waste of time and money. Very disappointed.
Dont be fooled by the 2 stars rating, Baldurs gate is an amazing game. However, it is advised to stay away from this port. Its overpriced and lacks any kind of real improvement over its original version. Beamdog, the company that "remade" this game are only after your cash. If they were serious about improving this game. They would at least make cloud saving available. They didnt, so say goodbye to your save-games if you are upgrading your device...
This is a great game, but the iOS version is so old that this app should be deleted from the store. There are many major updates for PC released since 1.3. Do not waste money on this!
Wish I could get my money back nothing but issues with this game.
Love this game from way back. Played BG1EE to be able to port over a character, which worked fine. BG1EE is great. But the difficulty slider on BG2EE doesnt work, and you are perpetually stuck at "normal", which isnt all that normal (max hp per level, enemies do 75% of normal damage). Dont want to bother playing an easy version of the game. Fix and Ill increase my rating!
the WORST game i have ever (tried) to play. zero tutorial, poor graphics and gameplay. horrible game. $15 should blow me away. one more game on the deleted list
